Curvycouture, for those of you who follow her, is a plus-size model. Looking at the fabulous pictures she posts and reading her tumblog, i’m really learning to realize that there’s nothing wrong with the way i look, but there is something wrong with the way society sees women like us. Women who aren’t twigs, whose ribs you can’t add on sight, who don’t have itty bitty wrists or ankles, and have a chest/hips/booty. Some clothes aren’t made to fit us and never will. We have to learn how to take the clothes that a society like the one in the US wants us to wear, and make it work for us. I’m learning to love the way i look and not be envious of the skinny girls, because i physically CAN’T look like them, i’m not built for it without starving myself (which i refuse to do, thanks!), and honestly, i like my curves. This girl, nearly singlehandedly has changed my mind about how i want to be perceived when it comes to how i look, and i really can’t thank her enough for that.
