Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are all having fantastic weeks so far.

Lately I have been doing a lot of soul searching, and I feel the urge to design more and more. Unfortunately, I will probably not be able to afford to sell anything for a while. I know I suck, I got you all excited about my line/dress and now it isn’t going to happen (for now). Unfortunately, I am not the best seamstress and a real seamstress costed more than I could afford so I am kind of in an awkward stage. For now, I am going to keep designing and continue sewing and show you guys what I come up with. :)

But this outfit I created nothing, except I did cut my own bangs… ;) That’s something right!?

top: ModCloth

skirt: thrifted

boots: gifted

P.S. When I was young girl I shopped at maurices a lot. They always had jeans that fit me well, and they had cool affordable stuff. I am not sure if you have heard of maurices, seeing how they were in my small town in Michigan, but they have this awesome modeling contest going on! Watch these videos of previous winners, here and here. Submit yourself here. You do not have to be a experienced model to enter, so good luck lovelies! :)

ITS ALMOST FRIDAY! :D Yayyyy! This was my first week at work after the holidays and I have been so out of it! Getting back into the groove of it is tough, but I am glad to be back at work and on a good schedule with my blog. :)

This outfit is pretty minimalist for me, but I really love it. I am really tall (5’11”) so most skirts and dresses are too short for me! However, I have learned some really cool alternatives for this problem. For instance, I saw this skirt in H&M and knew I had to have it. I tried it on and it was so short my butt was practically hanging out of it! lol Bought it anyways.

When I finally decided to rock it, I realized it would be perfect with this longer sheer dress I had! So, I put it over and it was such a lovely combo (pics here). I lost the skirt for a few months (lost in my car lol), but after moving I found it again! So, here is another dress I wore it over! :)

Oh, yea! I cut my bangs and died my hair all by myself! I really like it! I hope you do too!

dress: Asos Curve

earrings: Morroco (in Disney’s Epcot) lol

skirt: H&M

tights: Target

shoes: Old ModCloth

How has your week been? Recovering from the holidays ok?

Most of these have been in my inbox for a longggg time. I do not like to overload my blog in these posts so I will be doing this post with several of the messages! :)

Hey anons, Keep in mind: I have a commenting system on my blog now! I will respond to them especially when you ask a question! :) So that is probably a quicker and more efficient way to get an answer from me! ;)

Do you have to be tall to be a curvy print model? I’m 5’5”, 140 lbs. I keep wondering if it’s worth a try…

It depends on the client, many people will say that you must be 5’9 to get anywhere as a model (which is pretty much true for mainstream models), but that doesn’t mean there is no market out there! Give it a try, what do you have to lose??

Not A Question, just a statement. Your gorgeous. <3 i can’t wait to try out your clothing line soon! Your a very inspiring person for us plus-sized girls!

Thank you so much for the love anon! I do wish making this line was easier than it is, it’s hard when you work full time! :{ But its coming along.

I saw you in Seventeen Magazine. I cried.

This made me lol. I hope you were crying tears of joy?!

Hey Mandy! I love your style! Where do you get your clothes?? -Shelby

I get my clothes from all over, majority though is ModCloth.com and thrift stores. ;) If you see my outfit posts, I typically tell you where I got the items I am wearing! :D

Hey, my name’sMaria! I like your style that I saw on 17 magazine, and also on your website. It’s sort of relevant to mine, but I’m also a curvy girl, so i was wondering were can i find clothes that make me look slimmer but still chic? bc i look at tjmaxx, marshalls, forever21, and i can only find a few things that does not show my stomach as much (mostly like floaty tops) Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Maria! If you are really self conscious of wearing items that show your stomach, then don’t be afraid to size up in shirts! Make sure you don’t go too large, unless you are looking for a more oversized look. But this is something I typically do, I do not like items that are super tight on my body for comfort reasons! I hope this helps!

hi mandy I’m Latina I love your dress, you are very inspiring, I love your positive attitude and your safety and hope to continue this blog if I may copy some of your outfitsthanks for being so you want = D. pardon if this badly edited because I did it in the translator.

This anon message just makes me really happy. :}

Hey! So, I saw you in 17 magazine and fell in love with you! I absolutely adore the shoes, and dress your wearing in the one photo, but I can’t find them for the life of me!! I was wondering if you could let me know where you got them?

I got these shoes from ModCloth.com! However, they are out of stock! The designer name is Jeffrey Campbell, he is definitely one of my favorite (affordable) shoe designers! :)

Well, that’s all folks! I hope the anon’s who posted these read them and are content. I just cleaned my whole apartment, and need to rest. <3 See you tomorrow!

Hey everyone!!

I am the Style Crush for the November 2011 issue of Seventeen Magazine!!! AHHHHHH! haha

Just thought I would share. ;)

<3

I was scrolling through my modeling archives the other day, I don’t remember what I have shared on my blog, but here are some images from my first modeling shoots I ever did (about 3 years ago)! Wow… How time flies! That vest outfit is kinda embarrassing…

Which one do you like the best?

Some eye candy for this gloomy Tuesday morning! :) This is Bree Warren! She is a BGM Model stunner!

Thanks to Madison Plus for the pics, and see a few more here.

Enjoy my dear followers. <3

This is actually supposed to be a top! haha I wore this AMAZING seamless tube dress underneath it!
I used to be so cynical for anything “one-sized” but this tube dress is seriously AMAZING. Go buy one now! They are perfect under sheer anything! :D
The boots are my favorite too. I have worn them a few times.

so proud that you only have full lighting on your face?

oh snapppp

You shouldn’t be proud of being unhealthy. This is clearly an overweight person. Being overweight is just as unhealthy as being underweight. I’m so sick of this “embrace your curves!” trend that’s been going on. It started off fine, but now you have people extremely (no, I don’t mean her^ so shut up) overweight & less face it: fat, calling themselves “curvy”. You know, I’m going to make a post about this. Surely it will result in unfollows & bitching but ..do I care? Nah.

People like this are annoying.
Haters gonna hate?!

Tara Lynn also talked about what being seductive means to her exclusicely for Plie:

Seduction is a question of feeling sure of yourself, as well as good body posture. It means having a positive attitude towards life and positive energy. It´s not just a matter of being thin. I loved the Plié project because it is based on respect. And that’s really important! – Tara Lynn
