OH MY GOSH.

So, I have been lucky enough to be invited to fashion week by Madison Plus (and got some great invites by Little Lime Dress) and was off to New York City for the 2012 Fall RTW shows at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

First day was fantastic. I arrived Saturday at 7am (from an overnight bus), and was ready to take the city by storm! I got breakfast with a good friend and prepared for my first New York Fashion Week show ever. I cannot even tell you all the things I was feeling on my subway ride to the Lincoln center. But most of it was just general nervous and freaking out. My schedule for the day was Rafael Cennamo, Hervé Leger, Vantan Tokyo, Monique Lhuillier, and Venexiana.

Wow, that is a mouthful. But nevertheless, I was so ready for anything and everything that came my way (other than pronouncing their names correctly)…

When I finally found my way to the Lincoln Center I was overwhelmed with the amazingly fashionable crowd. I walk up those grand steps with my, newly changed into from the subway, heels. My iPhone in one hand, my SLR in the other, ready for whatever.

I had no idea what to expect, but I walk into the building and was instantly freaked out. I stand in line for the show I am ready for and an employee approaches me asking if I had a barcode. I was soooo excited to say yes, and moved to the front of the line! I felt like royalty. Then I was moved into another line, of which I saw two of my favorite bloggers at the front of the line, so I began to shake.

The first show was at the box, which I found out shortly after I went in that it was my least favorite room. Super crowded and warm, but Rafael Cennamo’s clothing was really great.

Fall is almost here! I seriously cannot wait for this 90 degree weather to GO AWAY! But anyways, this jacket is something I am super excited to wear into the fall and winter this season. It is in my favorite fiery color red!
This jacket is vintage and I got it in a thrift store for $10!! Crazy good deal, but I guess that is the kind of deal that you get when you live in the booney’s.



I know I personally dress in a lot of dark colors as the weather gets colder, so this jacket really spices any look up!

As most of you lovely followers know, I do style posts for Madison Plus on occasion! It is a good time, and I love to share with you pple! However, since this is on my blog, I will share a few more pics! <3

My boyfriend and I went on a weekend getaway to Deep Creek, Maryland. It was definitely an amazing weekend, we did everything fall related. The weather was absolutely perfect, and I packed comfy for the whole trip.

This combination of clothing is definitely in my comfort zone: a nice stretchy cotton dress, a soft pastel scarf around my neck, and a pair of wooden wedges for some contrast. It was a lovely weekend, however its time to get back to work!

By the time I got to Lane Bryant it seemed like most of the crowd had already been there. But that was great for me! Know why? BECAUSE I got to meet Ashley Graham and Lizzie Miller, two beautiful plus size models who I look up to a great deal. They were both very sweet and got pictures with me and my good friend, Natalie, who was assisting me!

Natalie and I also got compliments for our outfits we were wearing! Also, everyone working at Lane Bryant was kind and so helpful!

After the OSP fashion show, Erica and I hopped into a cab down to the The Standard Hotel’s fabulous rooftop bar The Boom Boom Room. We were so excited to be able to put our feet up and relax with the lovely ladies from the runway show.

We so enjoyed the perfect ending to an amazing history-making day!

Last Friday we spent our evening hanging out with all of our fans at the Lord & Taylor, Madison Plus FNO event.

Erica and I had an amazing time running around the floor styling up the curvy mannequins in pieces from Micheal Kors, Not Your Daughters Jeans, Adrianna Papelle, Calvin Klein and Jones New York.

I loved styling my outfit, I decided to rock Micheal Kors head to toe. I was in love with the animal print skirt and the purple blouse with the grommets just popped my outfit.

All I did to my hair for the night was some big velcro rollers and wore them around the office while I worked. Talk about multi-tasking at its best!

We were so excited that Mandy and Natalie came up to help us cover all the exciting FNO events. After joining us to capture the style competition they went on to visit Lane Bryant, True Boutique and Re/Dress.

Our three beautiful finalists from our style competition were Tina Santiago, Oby Nmezi and Tiffany Bank. Erica and I styled them head to toe in our picks from the Lord & Taylor plus floor.  Which outfit was your favorite?

Our audience picked Tiffany Bank with her Calvin Klein fur coat and Jones of New York faux wrap dress as the winner!

This is what I would have worn my first day of school, yesterday, if it wasn’t so freaking hot! I just love this lace maxi skirt, I would wear it everyday if the weather would chill out a little (literally)! I bought it back in 9th grade after I officially parted from my “punk” phase. I wore it constantly for a while in high school then probably didn’t wear it for 3 years. Never the less I found it again and haven’t looked back! Ladies, do not be afraid to wear white this fall, as long as you do it properly. I always love a good white and black combo, but I wanted to get a little more creative this time by adding the brown belt and vintage gold necklace. Both the belt and necklace I got from a flea market! It is my final year of college, but this skirt makes it all bearable. Thank you white lace maxi skirt for lightening up my wardrobe.
