Happy Tuesday!

I hope you are all having fantastic weeks so far.

Lately I have been doing a lot of soul searching, and I feel the urge to design more and more. Unfortunately, I will probably not be able to afford to sell anything for a while. I know I suck, I got you all excited about my line/dress and now it isn’t going to happen (for now). Unfortunately, I am not the best seamstress and a real seamstress costed more than I could afford so I am kind of in an awkward stage. For now, I am going to keep designing and continue sewing and show you guys what I come up with. :)

But this outfit I created nothing, except I did cut my own bangs… ;) That’s something right!?

P.S. When I was young girl I shopped at maurices a lot. They always had jeans that fit me well, and they had cool affordable stuff. I am not sure if you have heard of maurices, seeing how they were in my small town in Michigan, but they have this awesome modeling contest going on! Well hello everyone! Several girls have approached me via e-mail and asked if I could give more advice on “how to become a plus size model”. Well, here is how I became a model…

I read so so soooo many articles on-line about how to begin. I had nothing to spend on photoshoots so that was out of the question. Which was when I found out about TFP/CD (Trade For Print/CD) *Angels sing*. This is when you meet with photographers (mostly students) that are working on their portfolio’s as you are and will not charge you. Only because they are learning also! :) It is a great thing, not to mention free- but you have to remember to BRING IT.

If you have a Art Institute around you there are plenty of photography students that need models for projects. They are a great place to go, but they do not tend to give many pictures back (their school project might require one image), so keep that in mind. You might get 2 or 3 images, discuss this with the photographer beforehand, so you know what to expect.

Where do you find these photographers? ModelMayhem.com. This site is fabulous, you can find photographers that are professional and not so professional. I can usually tell by a photographers work if I am interested in working with them or not. Because most of my work is fairly classy.

Before you meet up with one of these photog’s make sure you contact another model (from their port) to ask their opinion on the person/photographer.

Big deal? Yes I think so.

When you have your pictures taken it is important to be comfortable, or it will show throughout all of the pictures that you were not. I love seeing pictures of the photographers before I meet them. Because after all they can see pictures of me! I just think it’s a comfort thing.

Went to Deep Creek Lake again this past weekend. It was so colorful, I couldn&#8217;t get over it! So, naturally I took about 1290830298 pictures! I am so lucky Kevin puts up with all of my crazy picture taking! :} He is amazing. Hahaa, and he was posing for me this weekend! Here is a funny one: I love this man. Anyways, so life was awesome just relaxing, soaking up the sun, hanging out with Kevin&#8217;s cousin the LOVELY Lauren, and her boyfriend Ian. We just basically did one huge double date the whole weekend. They are my favorite couple to chill with. :D So, since we were outside and it was gorgeous I thought hey? Why not do an outfit post? lol It was one of those days where I felt so fresh, the weather made me feel like a new person. I didn&#8217;t even think much about my outfit (you can probably tell)! What did you do this weekend?!?!?!?

I leave for LA tomorrow afternoon and it still hasn’t exactly hit me. I called my mom this morning because I was really excited! She was really excited too, but then I told her what the website was and she got nervous… My mom is a very conservative dresser so knowing that I will be doing scandalous photos made her nervous! She even pulled the “do you want your dad, boyfriends dad, or family seeing these”?? No I really don’t, but I am not going to say “heyyyy family check out hipsandcurves.com and look at my ass!” lol you know?

This is also the most “sexy” shoot I have ever decided to do. I know I will be very comfortable, because when I start shooting I go into another world. I just don’t want to look trashy. It is all about the poses, a good model can make a trash bag look hot!

So anyways, I am going to do it, and I am NOT going to think about my family while shooting. Natalie said: “I am going to think about all the ex-boyfriends I have ever had, kind of like a F U to them” lol. I think that is the perfect thought! But I will also be thinking about Kevin, he has been so supportive of me, so I have to make him proud!

Also, about showing my body, isn’t that what a plus model is? I mean I am confident in my skin, but I don’t feel like sharing my naked body with the world if you know what I am saying!

Sorry, I am so scatterbrained right now: I am exhausted, stressed about school, flying to LA tomorrow, have photo assignments due, need to make up missing this weekend at DCL to Kevin and his cousin.

Ugh, I need to go to bed. BUT I AM SOOOO EXCITED! SO I am off to pack! I will be updating my blog/twitter as much as possible! I won’t have a lap top, so I will posting from my phone!!! <3333 you allll! Thank you for being so supportive through all of this!
