I am trying to steer clear of the typical “I have to lose 20 pounds this year” bullshit. All I want to do is feel good this year. I want to eat things that make me feel good, I want to wear things that make me feel good, and I want to exercise in a way I enjoy (yoga, sports, walking). I have a lot of health problems in my family and have been in the hospital for a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in lungs) before so I know the importance of being active. However, I am over the hype that I should weigh something specific, I personally find it stupid and overrated.

Anyways, I have some other resolutions too:

  • Read at least once a week
  • Sketch 3 designs a week
  • Photograph more of my life
  • Sew something at least once a month
  • Take more self portraits of Kevin and I
  • Make my blog more than just a hobby
  • Cook more challenging foods

That is all for now! I think I will continue to add more to the list. The beauty of a new year is the refreshing new start, I am going to try to better myself this year!

What are your new years resolutions?!?

I am so ready for NYC. I am going to Ford and Wilhelmina January 6th, I am going to be confident. I am sick of being scared, and nervous about it. I have never felt so prepared for something in my life.

If nothing else, this is what I will do right in my life. That is where I feel I belong.

I do not have support from anyone but my boyfriend, my best friend, and you all. I hope you realize how much all of you mean to me. The e-mails of support I have gotten, the likes, the re-blogs… You are all so amazing, and truly beautiful people.

YOU have inspired me, and have made me confident.

I don’t wanna loose weight, I wanna feel great!

That is my goal. Feeling great may lead to loosing weight, because for me to feel amazing requires many things. I have to have a well balanced diet, I feel the best when I eat a variety of things (veggies/chips/protein).

Also, my family is signing up for the Y (MCA) haha, and apparently they are signing me up too! I plan on doing yoga, its relaxing and while I will be working and attending a full 18 credits of school I might go crazy. Don’t worry my dear followers, you will be with me every step of the way! :} haha

But basically the holidays with my family made me feel like crap, that is allllll they talk about is weight. I can’t eat this, I can’t eat that. Actually you can, so stop punishing yourself. At first with my family I was really worried that they might be able to tell that I gained a little bit of weight. So, naturally I wore a slimming dress, haha. Dress because my problem area is my ass and hips, no one can see that shit when you have a “slimming dress” on. ;)

I always bank on my grandma saying you look great every Christmas! (When you look thin, and she says nothing if you don’t) She said to me, “Hello my world traveller!”…. fail.

HOWEVER, I decided to get over it, I know I don’t feel my best right now… I mean I lived off of packet food, frozen pizza, and beer for 4 months, what did they expect?! My healthy lifestyle comes back January 1st, 2010. (When I say healthy, I mean healthy for me… we all have different levels of healthy I think).
